I was grabbing my daily coffee at Starbucks at 52nd this morning with Jessie, an old acquittance of college. We never had much in common in college, but we 'sparked' at our last reunion and agreed on a cup of coffee, when we were both in New York again.
She's single and in the dating game. She recently moved to New York with a brand new job, and I guess one of the reasons was for her to be closer to meeting new people. I agreed to introduce her to some of my friends.
Anyway - that's a story for another day. One of the things we discussed was the Starbucks-brand, the company claim to have adopted the name from a secondary character in the 1851 movie Moby Dick. As a graphic designer I've always adored their brand and logo. They - at least in some branches - pay ridiculously attention to details, which I believe is a must in branding now a days.
